It was a record early home opener.  We shoveled the courts twice in advance of the match.  Kathy Rankin and her crew from the Town of Wolfeboro Recreation Department helped tremendously in enabling the early start.  We are grateful.

It was also record cold and record windy with below freezing chill factors.  The wind, sun, and cold were important factors.  We thank Kathy Sutherland for coming to get photos.  We also thank the large group of Kingswood parents who braved the cold to support the team and our athletic director Aaron House who stayed until the very end of the 3 hour match.

Kingswood lost in singles 2-4 with all hard fought and close sets.  

Co-captain  Maddie Ward won 4 games against Pembroke's best player.

Co-captain Grace Saunders beat their #2 8-6 in another long set.

Emily Carpenter narrowly lost at 6-8.

Anna Mansfield took their #4 to a tiebreaker only to lose that 3-7.

Danielle Schillereff earned the second singles win for the Knights easily defeating her opponent 8-3.

Paige Moore gave up an early lead to lose a long close set 6-8.

The Knights dominated in the doubles with increasingly decisive wins.  Ward and Saunders won 8-5,  Carpenter and Mansfield 8-3, and Schillereff and Geri Andrea decided the match with a shut out 8-0 win.

The 2-0 Knights are headed to Plymouth on Monday.
