Girls Varsity Tennis vs. Goffstown HS School

Kingswood lost 3-5 in a match that almost was 5-3 in our favor. Most of the 5 sets Kingswood lost were close including a tiebreaker loss and being one point away from another tiebreaker. Although tennis does not score by the number of total games played, Goffstown won 48 to Kingswood's 47.

With Monday, May 1st's wet weather, we were lucky to complete the match at Goffstown. The match was eventually called for rain. It had already been decided in doubles at that point.

At #1 singles senior co-captain Jasper Shapiro lost 1-8.

At #2 singles junior Kara Phu brought the game score to 7-8 before she lost the set at 7-9.

At #3 singles junior Marina Eneeva easily beat her opponent 8-2.

At #4 singles senior co-captain Brooke Seigars rallied from 4-7 to bring the set to a tiebreaker. She lost that 4-7. The score is recorded as 7-9TB4-7.

At #5 singles sophomore Danielle Schillereff lost 2-8.

At #6 singles junior Rebecca Coache easily won 8-2.

At #1 doubles Shapiro and Seigars had the set tied at 5-5 before losing 5-8.

At #2 doubles Phu and Eneeva easily won their set 8-2.

Rain prevented the completion of the third doubles.

The team is now 1-4 The team has yet to be shut out. With the exception of the Oyster River match, every match has been long and close and not decided until the doubles.

The team plays Kennett at home Wednesday, May 3rd.
