Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Farmington HS School

On the evening that the seniors of the Knights Girls Soccer Team were honored, all of the Kingswood goals were scored by seniors. Captain Lauren Pomerleau scored twice, captain Hannah Demain scored four times, and senior Hannah Dewitt scored once. The Knights won 7 to 0.

Senior captain Lauren Pomerleau started the scoring with an arching shot off a free kick from 30 yards out. Three minutes later she scored again the exact same way.

At 11 minutes Senior captain Hannah Demain scored with a lefty kick off of a deflection by the goal keeper. At 27 minutes Demain dribbled inside the 6 and shot for a goal.

At 31 minutes into the first half senior Hannah Dewitt scored with a low shot.

Fifteen minutes into the second half Demain completed her hat trick with a shot to the far side of the goal. Demain scored once more at 17 minutes into the second half.

The 7-0 score was the first shut out victory for the Lady Knights this season.

The ceremony honoring the seniors began before the game with a procession of both teams across the field led by the two referees. As seniors were introduced, Coach Merrell presented a rose to each senior. The senior then presented the rose to a parent or two parents. While the seniors were having their photos taken with their parents, an underclassman team member read a short testimonial to them. The team would like to thank the Kingswood Boosters for their help with the flowers and the large posters of each senior.

Senior Hope Roiter presented her rose to her parents Dawn and Will Roiter.

Senior Pam Bonilla presented her rose to her father Zach Page.

Senior Hannah DeWitt presented her rose to her mother Carol DeWitt.

Senior Team Manager Becky Peternel presented her rose to her parents Katy and Bill Peternel.

Senior Captain Hannah Demain presenter her rose to her mother Kelly Demain.

Senior Captain Lauren Pomerleau presented her rose to her parents Lisa and Mike O'Keefe.

After this flower ceremony, the team members sang the National Anthem.

The team has a road trip Tuesday to Trinity and again on Friday to Bow.
