Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Plymouth Regional HS School

The Kingswood Girls Soccer Team held Plymouth to two goals in the first half at Alumni Field on Tuesday, October 11th. Despite several scoring opportunities, the Lady Knights failed to finish. This pattern continued in the second half when the Plymouth girls scored 4 more to bring the score to 6-0.

Kingswood keeper Sarah Harrigan made 16 saves compared to the 7 saves the Plymouth keeper made. The teams were tied at 3 corner kicks each.

The scoring began early, at 3 minutes, when a shot from inside the 6 deflected off of Harrigan's hands. The next goal was near the end of the first half, at 34 minutes, when a Plymouth player faked to inside the 6 and scored from in close. At 10 minutes into the second half Plymouth scored on an unchallenged shot to a low corner of the goal. At 13 minutes, Plymouth again was able to dribble into a scoring opportunity and finished the play. At 17 minutes into the second half another Plymouth shot from inside the six was again converted. The final score of the game was another shot from inside the 6.

The Kingswood girls never gave up and played with heart.

The final home match of the season is against Farmington at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Alumni Field.
