The Kingswood Girls Soccer Team traveled to Weare? Replace the question mark with a period. The first place Generals of John Stark maintained possession of the ball for most of the game. The undefeated Generals beat the undefeating Knights 10-0.

When a team outplays another that well, it is time for the underdog to learn from their opponents. They had controlled passes which were one or two touch and accurate and quick to execute. Their movement off the ball always created several options for the player with the ball to use. They used back help and switches to the weak side, sometimes switching the field with just two passes. Speed and conditioning aside, their abilities to receive and distribute the ball were superior to the Knights.

In the first minute John Stark scored off a cross. At 7 minutes they took advantage of a keeper fumble. At 12 minutes the goal was the result of a fast break and a 1 on 1 with the goalie situation. At 14 minutes it was a hard shot from outside the 18. At 16 minutes the conversion of a cross was from a deflection off a John Stark player's chest. At 23 minutes a rebound was converted. At 26 minutes there was a long shot to the far side of the goal. At 33 minutes a knuckle ball dropped right over the Knight keeper's head. At 34 minutes a hard low shot found its way to the back of the net. At the half the Knights were already down by 9. In the second half, 14 minutes in, the Generals finished their scoring when the Knight defense let up inside the 6 yard mark.

Knight keeper Sarah Harrigan made a dozen saves.

The Knights host Oyster River at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd, on the turf at Alumni Field. The Knights will be digging deep into their roster since several of the starters will be unable to attend due to a required ceremony at their church.
