The Kingswood Girls Varsity Soccer Team put up a good fight against Lebanon but came up short 2-0 on Alumni Field on Tuesday, September 13th.  The game was scoreless for the first 11 minutes.  At that point Lebanon scored from the weak side on a cross.   The game was tied at 1-0 at the half and 24 minutes into the second half.  Sarah Peternel almost scored on a direct kick but the lofted shot dropped just outside the far side of the Lebanon goal.  Lebanon scored on a similar knuckle ball shot which just dropped in the goal over the Knight keeper's head.  The Lebanon goalkeeper turned back 18 shots from the Knights.  In the goal for Kingswood, Sarah Harrigan played an awesome game.  She owned the box denying 26 Lebanon attempts.  For several saves she dove at the ball at the foot of the attacker.  The only two goals she allowed were quality shots made by the Raiders.  The team travels to see a college game on Wednesday, September 14th,  the University of Southern Maine at Gorham hosting Salem State.   On Friday, September 16th, the team travels to Kearsarge.
