The Kingswood Girls Varsity Soccer Team lost 11-1 against the Saints of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. For the first 6 minutes the ball went back and forth between the two teams. St. Thomas scored first at the 6 minute mark. The game was scoreless until the 14 minute mark. During the 5 minutes between 14 minutes and 19 minutes, St Thomas scored 4 more times bringing the lead to 5-0. During the second half the Saints kept the pressure on and scored as many as they could adding 6 more to their tally. Their last goal was with just 4 minutes remaining.

Goalkeepers Sarah Harrigan and then Mary Peternel made a combined 28 saves for the Knights.

Salome Salgado was fouled inside the 18 at 33 minutes into the second half. Freshman starter Sarah Peternel took the penalty kick. She scored on a perfectly placed hard shot to the left side of the goal denying St. Thomas a shut out. The Knights have only been shut out once. That was at their season opener.

The team is looking for its first win on Tuesday against Lebanon at 5:30 p.m. on the turf of Alumni Field.
