Track teams take first place at first meet of the season

On April 11th the track team traveled to Manchester for their first meet of the season against Manchester West and Pelham.  Both the boys and girls teams took first place.  The boys scored 97 points and the girls scored 91 points. Both teams placed in the top 4 in every event they competed in and the boys swept the top 4 places in the 200M dash.  Six boys qualified provisionally for the state meet: Isaac Sheahan in the 110M hurdles with a time of 17.74, Tucker Gosselin and Denver Bourgault ran times of 11.74 and 11.84 respectively in the 100M dash, Jack Dales jumped 5' 8" in the high jump, Jake Dearborn qualified in 2 events throwing the shot put a distance of 38' 8" and the discus 110' 3" and Randy Willette threw the javelin a distance of 128' 10".  

Five girls qualified provisionally for the state meet: Eileen McKenna and Hannah Chatigny qualified in 2 events.  Eileen ran an 18.14 in the 100M hurdles followed closely by Hannah with a time of 18.24.  In the 300M hurdles there was just a half second between them as Eileen crossed the finish line in a time of 52.74 and Hannah ran a 53.24.  Mariah Craigue ran the 100M dash in a time of 13.64, Liz Morrison finished the 200M dash with a time of 28.64 and Caitlin Carpenter jumped a distance of 31' 10.5" in the triple jump.

The teams traveled to Pelham on April 15th.
