S. Huckman, Gwizdala, Pooler, and Deshaies medal at Plymouth

Nice running yesterday! Overall, the teams ran well on a challenging course with good competition.

The season is winding down for some... Some of you have only one race; some have two races; and some have (hopefully) three (or four?) races to go.  We look forward to finishing strong at these next couple/few of races! As a reminder, after the home meet, only top seven compete at the Division 2 meet. There will be two alternates as well and they will be expected to practice that week.

As you can see here, the results haven't been fixed yet, so we are sure how we did as a team. The results say that the boys won and the girls were second... that is not the case. From my calculations, I think the boys were third (ORHS 39, Kennett 59, KRHS 69) and the girls were fourth (ORHS, Kennett, Plymouth, and KRHS). Hopefully the results will be updated later today.

Also, when you look at the results on Direct Athletics, there are two sets of results there (at 5:30 this morning... it might be updated when you see this email). I think I got the correct times below. One set of results  has Owen and Cam going 1-2 and no ORHS runners are in those results... nice job guys, sorry I missed that finish! And one of the girls results is missing Zoe, so I used the other one.

The change of the Plymouth course definitely made it a bit slower. According to "coach discussions," (KRHS, ORHS, and Kennett) we thought it was 15-30 seconds slower (depending how fast you run), so keep that in mind when you compare times to last year.

A big congratulations to Zoe, Liz and Alex, who ran PRs; Molly, who ran a season best; Sarah B, who was only 8 seconds away from a PR; and Jeff, who was 9 seconds away from a PR. You can see the updated season spreadsheet here. If you see any mistakes, please let me know!

Our next race is at home this Thursday. The girls run first at 4:00, with the boys at about4:40, immediately after the last girl finishes. If parents and/or athletes could bring some food for the competing athletes for after the race, that would be great! We will also need a few course marshals to help with runner and car traffic. We will need an assertive person to help with traffic near Crescent Lake, another person to be at the cul-de-sac at the end of McManus, and another person to be by the playground. If you can volunteer for any of those places, please let me know ASAP. Thank you in advance!

And, as always, thank you to all the parents who made the trip to Plymouth. There were a lot of you there yesterday and we really appreciate your support!

I hope to see some of you later this morning at the James Foley 5k. If you haven't registered, you can register there. The race starts at 10:00.

On a similar note, the Wolfeboro Turkey Trot is another great race to do in November. Find more information here.
