WOLFEBORO — Rain was threatening for most of the afternoon, but Mother Nature held on just long enough to allow the Kingswood lacrosse girls to get in their game on Friday, May 13, without getting wet.
The game started a little late after Timberlane arrived just five minutes before the scheduled start time and the Owls got out quickly before Kingswood rallied for a 7-3 lead at halftime and snagged a 16-5 win.
"Down 2-0, they changed the tenor of the game," said Kingswood coach Sandy Bridgeman. "Nice contributions all the way around."
The Owls got out to the 1-0 lead just a minute and a half into the game, beating Kingswood keeper Julia Coughlin. Good defense from Amanda Lapar and a save from Coughlin kept it at 1-0, while Haley Bridgeman, Liz McLaughlin and Abby Dubel had good looks in the offensive zone for Kingswood.
