The Girls Ice Hockey team faced one of the top teams in the State on Wednesday, facing the Exeter Bluehawks. Although they may have been outmatched talent wise, the girls showed a ton of heart battling to a 8-2 loss. The games last goal with a minute left, showing the team never quit. Nikki Cayon made 77 saves in the loss while Kara Luby netted the two goals with Sofia Marshall and Shawna Knowles assisting on both.
On Thursday, one day later, the Keene Blackbirds came to town and Kingswood looked to avenge the previous weeks loss at the Keene Ice Arena. The hockey girls were in control on their home ice as they scored first and never looked back. The first goal was scored by Kara Luby, assisted by Sofia Marshall and Ali House. Ali House also added two goals while Savannah Thomas netted her first ever high school goal. Thomas also had an assist on the evening, as did Kara Luby and Jillian Luby. It was a strong week of team play with Thursdday's solid contributions by Jenna Luby and Alissa Baldwin on the defensive end that helped preserve Nikki Cayon's first shut out of the year on 26 saves.
