The Girls Varsity Basketball Team traveled to Plymouth to take on the Bobcats on Wednesday, 1/4. The Knights jumped out to an early lead with aggressive defense and patient offense. Co-Captain Michelle Frady had the best game of her career at both ends of the floor scoring 10 points and recording 6 steals, 3 assists and 4 rebounds. Eliza Brault had 8 points, all in the first half, along with 3 impressive blocked shots and 3 steals. Co-Captain Liz McLaughlin, who has committed to Plymouth State University, gave her future coach from PSU (who came to the game to watch) a typical performance with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Meghan Lapar hauled in 8 offensive rebounds and had 3 steals. Ashtyn Cameron came off the bench and had 8 boards. Aleigha Brault, Hope Roiter, Abby Coulter, Amanda Lapar, and Emily Skelley all gave us a lot of quality minutes and hustle, while Co-Captain Aislinn Noble pulled down rebounds and was a strong presence in the paint. The Knights are 4 - 1 and the Plymouth game was our best team win of the season. Our defense caused a lot of problems for the Bobcats and we converted a lot of their turnovers into fast break points. This was an excellent team effort. The Knights are home against Timberlane on Friday, 1/6 for a varsity only game at 6:30.
