CoEd Varsity XC Skiing vs. Multiple Opponents

The Kingswood Nordic Team had its first freestyle race of the season.  We traveled to White Mountains Regional High School in Whitefield.
 
The high school boys placed 4th out of 7 schools.  The high school girls placed third out of 5 schools.
 
The 5 kilometer high school course was in good shape.  They did not get the rain that deteriorated our local trails.
 
Jim Huckman placed 12th out of 42 finishers in 15:23
Adam Richardson placed 14th in 15:42
Axel Plache placed 20th in 16:06
David Sandoval rounded out the scoring in 29th place in 17:25.
 
Also completing the course for the boys team were Devin Holt and Robbie Bourdeau.
 
Scoring for the high school girls were:
Sarah Bellefleur in 6th place out of 44 finishers in 20:57.
Sarah Huckman in 11th place in 21:39
Sarah Bean tied her sister Allison for 17th place in 22:32
 
Also Sarah Hotchkiss placed 5th for the Kingswood team in 33rd place in 26:12   (4 Sarahs in the top 5 for the team)
 
Also finishing for the high school girls were Rosemary Carpenter, Carolyn Day, Liz Morrison, Sarah Carpenter and Ashley Diamond.  
Despite points going to 3 Kingswoods of various spellings, the team place (3rd of 5 schools) was unaffected.
 
The bib confusion continued into the middle school girls race.  
The course was shortened to just over 3 km for the middle school racers.
For the Kingswood Middle School girls:
 
Ginger Plache was 4th of 33 racers in 17:18
Marcella DeNitto was listed as DNF but actually finished in 11th place in 18:25
Reagan Blanchet also finished the course in her first skate ski race.
 
Despite not having a full team of 4 racers, the girls finished 8th out of 10 schools.
 
For the Middle School Boys:
 
Jackson Boudman was 11th in 16:54
Aidan Thompson was 32nd in 27:38.
Braden Viands was 39th of 41 finishers in 35:20
 
Despite not having a full team of 4 racers, the girls finished 4th out of 9 schools.
 
The next race is hosted by Lebanon at the Plainfield School at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30th.
